Encouraging good attendance, behaviour and timely submissions in subjects
This year I have been experimenting with ways to motivate my students to attend classes promptly, to recognise good behaviour in the class and to get their work submitted to a good standard first time.
For many years I have seen educators use the stick more frequently than the carrot to ensure performance of students. For me this is counter productive and just enforces a negative attitude in the student.
What has proven to be quite motivational for my students has been the introduction of a formal rewards scheme, have a look at this excel spreadsheet I have used to manage the scheme.
Excel Spreadsheet
It would be nice to be credited if you make use of the resource.
